Dear Collectors

A year ago I bought a Smena SL, and forgot it actually uses the Agfa Rapid system or east German SL system. I came across the camera again when digging through my gear. Sturdy, metal cast body, very nice viewfinder!

I wonder what the main differences are between the SL and the Symbol. If the viewfinder is great too, I might consider getting one to take pictures with.

Hello!

I think, that SL is with metal body and Symbol with plastic.
Smena Rapid and Smena-SL are the same, SL is export version.

That is correct, the body of Symbol is plastic and taller, same lens, but the weather dial is on the lens housing on Symbol and SL has it on top. Also between SL and Rapid, my Rapid does not have the accessory shoe, when SL does have it, otherwise they're identical with the Agfa Rapid cartridge system.

Cheers,
Vlad.
