Change of life

It has been a while since my last posting, but I think I already did mention something about a possible change in my life in my previous postings.
Well, now it is done, almost. After living 20 years in same house we have finally moved. The final why was my younger sons moving, he started "university degree" 90 kms from here.
So now it is only us old couple, and the flat is not smaller than before. Also I got an own room for my stuff. Yet I can't get all inside my virines, in all these years I somehow managed to squeeze 100 cameras in the space of 50...
Which means I will have to go through my collection one more time, concentrate even harder in Smena/Elikon, and start to sell away as much as is needed to get the rest in the space that is available.
But before that I still have approx 2 square-meters of large storage boxes of other things to arrange, like brochures and my photographs.
My tip of the day: either move in every 5 years or never [:(]

Juhani, sorry to hear about your change in circumstances, it's always hard to let go of things, but be sure that whatever you decide to sell on our forum will go to a good home!

Amazing. Just a few minutes ago, I was writing about the very thing that you are facing. And I also can appreciate your view on the space that a group of cameras can take.

Yet, I am still in the "input" mode at this time. As Vlad mentioned, yes, I could probably be considered to be one of the people with an interest in providing compensation and a new home for some of the cameras that you feel should be able to find a new home. Oddly enough, The Smena is one of interest to me, and I do mean a rather basic model. Here in the United States, the argus Model C3 did more than the combined efforts of all other 35mm cameras in the time period from 1939 to the early 1960s to make 35mm film the format of choice here. It was "the people's camera." There are millions of Americans today who can say; "My dad had a C3." In Japan, the combination of the Sanei Sangyo K. K. SAMOCA-35 and the Shinano Koki K. K. PIGEON 35 did the same thing for Japan.

While I do have an interest in the "serious" cameras, yes, I also like the cameras that most of the people used to take photographs of their kids, their pets, the holidays, the vacations, their relatives, the celebrations, and all of the other ways that people recorded the important events and things in their lives. I believe that the Smena is one of those cameras also.

Good morning from Finland!

The cameraboxes are still in the corner of my room, waiting for the period when I have a couple of weeks free time. The time needed to answer questions, send pictures and post cameras, hopefully if any are asked for and sold. From the past I know selling also takes a lot of time.
And it was just last week that I finished a couple of articles from last summer. Which is work, meaning getting paid for, and should have been done a bit earlier...
So please patinece, I know some members have also asked me privately, but my answer has been delayed. As there is not yet any answer to give what will go for sale. During the spring I will have to get this mess away!
