Russar is produced since more than a year I think.
I saw it some month ago in Lomography shop in Paris, even did a few test shots on my A7.
According to zenitcamera, the back of the lens is shorter than on original. Still I'm not sure it can be used on APS-C camera. Maybe Zoom knows.

Yes, Pierre, you are right: the new Russar has been produced since a year, I have checked.
BTW, I have just had a look at your site. What beautiful photos! I particularly loved your night photos! You should put some of them here...

Test shot is big word. I did a few photo inside the store, nothing was really interesting. And I'm not able to compare with old one since I have never owned a classical Russar MR-2.
But next week, I want to go there and compare my old 51's jupiter-3 with new one.

The real production of this Russar+ lens started later then planned. Somewhere around August last year (2015) it was available.
Also a nice lens but for a F/5,6-20mm also a bit too expensive. I got for Eur.550,- two years ago an Elmarit F/2,8-21mm-M for my M7 in extremely good condition. However a "made in Canada" Elmarit is not that expensive in Holland. I sold all my seperate V.F.'s (15mm C.V., 21mm (leica), 35mm) and bought for that money a new C.V. Zoom VF (model B, also for my u4/3) 15m-35mm in the clearance at Robert White.

thanks for the answer. I just would like to know, whether the edges are o.k. or not. my 15mm heliar was not compatible with the A7, the edges were pretty bad, on film they were fine. could be the same for the russar.

Recently bought a cheap old-stock Leica-M module for my Ricoh GXR, now use it with the "classic" Russar on the M39-Leica-M adapter, no need to look for that expensive A7+Russar+ combination. It is APS-C, edges are good. Plan to use it also with Jupiter-12. What I don't understand is what makes this APS-C camera different from others and if any other cameras are compatible with such lenses with long back parts. Heard that also Fujifilm X-Pro can be used with Russar but never found any confirmation of that. Did anyone try?

how many mm does the russar extend beyond the flange? I have a Sony A6000 which is an APS-C camera. you cannot use the jupiter-12 on APS-C, it extends 22 mm beyond the flange. the distance between the m39 thread and the sensor is not sufficient on APS-C. the 15mm heliar extends 15mm, there was no problem with my A6000 and no dark edges of course.
the A7 is full format and has a better resolution, although the A6000 and the A7 have 24 mp both. the heliar was quite bad on full format, so I still would like to know how the russar would be on a full format digital camera.

thanks for the info. there is definitely not enough room for a jupiter-12 in the sony A6000 and A5000, they are both APS-C. I tried myself, so I'm sure about this. I wonder how ricoh made it. it would be nice if you could confirm after you tried it.

I checked the length, it is about 19mm. Posted a couple of photos taken with Ricoh GXR + Russar.
http://ussrphoto.com/Forum/topic.asp?whichpage=1&TOPIC_ID=2931䈞I like my Ricoh probably it was the best mirrorless camera of the first generation to use with manual lenses, M-module was developed to use with Leica-M lenses, my russian M39 lenses fit very good in it. Unfortunately they stopped the production, no chance to get a full-frame module in the future. I hope perhaps some other manufacturer can produce a full-frame camera specially oriented on manual lenses.
