After some close examination on the collimator, the lens showed to be slightly off on infinity. Which means even sharper images are possible the next time after calibration.

The Smena is a great (perhaps underestimated) camera. It forces me to be more creative, using the tripod more often and think about composition. The slightly shorter focal length of its lens (40mm) is excellent for field and town sceneries.

Great photos, it can be seen that Smiena is equipped with quite good lens.
In the past I used Smena 8M, cheep, light camera without ragefinder and lightmeter. But if you have enough light and you don't want to make photo of e.g sport it is really good enough tool to take pictures.

Smena Symbol has ridiculously good optics. Very nice exposure on the last picture, I believe it would make a very impressive print on a medium-to-high contrast paper.

Yes, Smiena 8M is equipped with the same good lens T-43 (4/40).
