Hi guys,

a friend has a Mir 1 (m42 black) with a Cyrillic suffix Ш .
what does this mean? I have never seen...

The lens in quite common.
Ш-can be read like english "sh".
I think Мир-1В and Мир-1Ш is the same lens.

According to "city legends" Mir1SH not passed all quality controls steps. Like lottery ticket, lens can give picture any quality: low/normal/high. Your friend can check own luck.
