Hello,

I need the four black rims for rangefinder/viewfinder which can be found on the early fed 1 up to # c. 10000. When I say "black", they are rather yellow brass nowadays.
Impossible to find them as parts, and I want to restore a 1a.

Thanks. Jacques.

Really hard to find them.
I never saw them separately without a camera.
I have FED 10xxx (I don't have the camera here and I don't remember serial) with this black rims.
And I had FED 11xxx with regular chrom rims. I wonder when there was a change from black rims to chrom rims.

Certainly the limits are a bit uncertain, like for all the changes during the 1a/1b period.
Many 1a had to be repaired, and certainly many of them were "improved" with chromed rims at the same time.
It's the case of one of my 1a-s...
And I personally have the same limits in my collection: black rims before c. 10000, chromed after c. 11000.

Amitiés.Jacques.

Finally I understood what you mean [:D]
Those round things around the finder windows [^]
Mine (#3618) are "dark brass" so I guess it is good [;)]

Best regards,
Juhani
