I believe lens cup it original.
I also think that camera was giving to the dull and not livable party official. If this camera would be presented from the heard then words on inscription would be better and place for these words would chosen better. IMHO People who order such engraving did not care much about person who they presented this gift.
So Michel you most likely possessing very interesting artifact from totalitarian communist regime and IMHO it very well show relation between power and peoples.
