Hi All...
Not too long ago I received a Kalimar "SR-200" from my sister. Yestereday a bought a Cosmorex SE off Ebay. I have been thinking that it would be an "interesting project" to collect some of the "re-badged" FSU cameras but, my knowledge of exactly what to be on the look out for is limited. I did manage to find another in the Wiki Catlog here and, that is the Meprozenit. Can anyone provide some information on other "re-branded names" or, direct me to a good source for that information, that would be helpful in this project? I appreciate any help I can get. Thank you.[:)]
Regards to all....
Frank

hello Frankl...
we are very glad to know you...
As a collector I have many Zenit on shelves ...beware : it is a very dangerous addiction for your bank account !!!
So i collect , like you many rebadges zenits.
find a Mepro is very hard , as far as I know , it was deal only inJapan.
I hunt for one since a very long time (also for an US "delta" zenit !)....bad souvenir : Yuriy bought a nice one whith box on ebay ...just under my "nose" [:D] grrrrr !
Kalimar are very interesting ...but you have to get all models (chrom, black, whith or not Olympic badge, Sr 100, 200 etc...)
Cosmorex is not so easy to find : good find !
So you must look at special zenit names for Latin America : zenot XSL , zenit 12 PRO etc... (by the way , if you get double , please tell me (us ?)
anyway , it will be a pleasure to talk whith you about these zenit's.
Alain

Hi Alain and Guido...
Wow! This is a GREAT start.... I presently have a pretty good "mix" of FED's, Zorki's and Kiev's but, have not really settled into any particular "specialty". When I found the Cosmorex SE, I thought that it would be interesting to search out other re-badged FSU cameras. I find it much easier on this "old" brain to "specialize" rather than go about anything at random. Thank you for all this information and, I will try by best to keep the bank account balance in "check":) I'll keep you posted on how it goes...
Best Regards,
Frank

Dear Frank,
you are completely right to specialize you on a particular topic for a collection of Soviet cameras: the challenge is more interesting and secure to collect in all directions.
