I see, thanks Aidas! Somehow I've missed that post! I only remember Bill and I discussing it at some point in the past, but I don't think we came to any meaningful conclusion, only guesses... You may be right about the export markets with requirements, isn't Germany one of them? But I think it went under Revue in Germany didn't it?

Equal to the "Patent numbers".

Thanks Zoom, I do understand what it's for, I guess my question was why it's on the bottom [:)].. and I think Aidas provided a very good educated guess here, but what do you know about it, if anything?

Thanks,
Vlad.

I suspect that the patent number was engraved on examples that were going to be displayed at trade shows in Germany or the West.

Actually I thought the same Bill, but common nature of these - Aidas and Alain both have these tells me that these may be some kind of small export production batch rather than one-offs for trade shows...

Besides Aidas and Alain each having one, and the one on Molotok, that only makes about three ... so that's not making them very common, and I have never seen others besides the one on Molotok. I think they are rare. Maybe ten or so were made for a Photokina.

Does anyone else have one? I have seen many export and non-export type Horizont but never with these numbers.

Regards, Bill

Bill, I think 3 known in comparison to the unknown world-wide is a lot... [:D]..

Hi,

I would be very happy to have one of 10 existing demanstrating cameras [:)], but during my collecting activity I have met at least 5-7 of them ... or even more. It could be limited edition with 200-300 cameras in total, why not?

Best Regards,
Aidas
