ft-2 industar-50 what is it?

when dad was in the us army in occupied west germany he bought a strange looking soviet camera. it may be a panoramic camera as it has no external lens. it is basicaly a 3 inch wide by 6 inches long and about 2 and a half inches thick. it has a manual film advance a red level, a manual eposure counter from 1 to 12 , fixed f stop of f5, with 2 switches to set shutter speed at a choice of 1/1oo, 1/200, or 1/400. there is a plate by the film winder that says ft-2 industar-50 made in ussr. the back slides off from the rest of the camera, but i have no idea how film is loaded in it or what kind of film it takes. anyone familar with this camera and can give me any info on it would be apreciated.

The FT-2 is a panoramic camera and was manufactured by KMZ between 1958 and 1968. It uses standard 35mm film and has a frame size of 24mm x 110mm. The film has to be loaded in the special cassettes supplied with the camera. Early versions of the camera have a spring tensioning device on the base (1958-1960). The large lever in the centre on the top of the camera cocks the swing lens mechanism for exposure. The exposure is controlled by the 'shutter speed' levers, which in fact just alter the speed at which the slot rotates past the film. I hope this helps.
