HI All!!

Very interesting weekend in Bièvres...
Less sellers than other years.
Less Russions or Ukrainians
More Italians...

Two TSVVS for sale...
Seems to be original, not fakes....

I bought one (I was thinking for the secondTongue, but too expensiveShocked)

This camera has made central pages of leica magazine N° 15 in 1997 in Italy. I have the paper.

Base plate number is not matching with number inside.

Full working condition, shutter is ok.

I suppose the lens is matching the camera?? Specialist will tell.

Enjoy!

Congratulations for this TSVVS, Fred!Big smile
All seems OK to me. Idem for the lens which is a postwar Sonnar. The same series (before 31xxxxx) was put on the first Contax IIa.

It would be interesting to know the different numbers engaved inside and on the base plate of your camera.

Anything else interesting that year at Bièvres?

Amitiés. Jacques.

Fred, very nice find, congrats! Would love to see pictures from this year's Bievres if anyone who went took them!

Cheers,
Vlad
Hi,

Just back from Bievres too Smile My best congratulations on your new toy, Fred! I was holding your TSVVS in my very own hands indeed Smile Very interesting Fair, but not many soviet cameras unfortunately. Few pictures from Bievres to you.

best regards,
Aidas

Hi Aidas

I think next year we will have to meet in Bievres, and have lunch or dinner....
There was a second TSVVS to sell...
I am still negociating with the seller.....
I will give new shortly!!!

Fred
Aidas! Great pictures, thank you for sharing! What did YOU get at Bievres? Smile

Hi Vlad,

I had no plans to buy something serious at Bievres, since I do possess at least 3 different versions of TSVVS camera already Big smileBig smileBig smile I have purchased less common to find version of Zenit-16 camera, black Narciss in great shape and Jupiter-9 lens for Zorki mount. But it was great to meet my camera dealers from Europe, to talk with Jean Loup Princelle and to feel the very special atmosphere of beeing here. I was offered few very rare soviet lenses for SLR cameras, but I'm interested in RF lenses only, you know Smile

Best regards,
Aidas
very nice Kiev-1950 camera with mistake in the serial number of ZK 2/50 lens Big smileBig smileBig smile

At least three different TSVVS, Aidas! These cameras are so common and trivial nowadays. Who doesn't have his own TSVVS? Big smile

To be more serious, your picture of a fake ZK Zorki lens makes me put questions about my collection: how many hidden fakes are there here? It's so simple for the early Kievs, for example...

Many thanks for the photos. I went to Bièvres in 2005, but I am too busy at the beginning of June now...

Hi Jacques,

You are very right about hidden fakes - they are everywere around us unfortunatelyDisapprove. And this situation is growing up daily, since it's a good business for many forgers and dealers...

I have up to 80 known TSVVS cameras in my database. It's appr. 10 per cents of total production. Knowing that TSVVS camera is the top for every single collector of soviet cameras, it's not that much, what do you think? Many collectors possess at least 2 versions of the particular camera, i.e. 1949 edition and 1950 edition. I was lucky to obtain an extremely nice late version with "Mother of Pear" coverings as a 3rd TSVVS few years ago. And I'm not thinking this is too much for one fellow Big smileBig smileBig smile

Best regards,
Aidas

Hi Aidas,

Of course I was joking about the triviality of TSVVS! Big smile This camera is really a must for any Russian camera collector. And if I could find a 1950 one (I have a 1949')... I don't even dream of a "mother of pearl"!

The question of fakes puzzles me. Two or three years ago, I think I was able to share the fakes and the genuine ones, even when difficult (Zeiss/Jupiter lenses for example). Now, I am not sure of anything: certainly forgers made improvements...

Amitiés à toi. Jacques.
My second TSVVS is arrived todayBig smileBig smile

Pics are in "just arrived in my collection" topic...

Fred
Sorry for the delay, but I had to wait for my film to be processed. These photos were taken on the Sunday when the weather wasn't so good. They were taken on Agfaphoto Vista plus film using an Horizon S203 pro camera.
