This camera is a Zenit-EM with a TTL meter. The meter is a Match the needle type with a circle between a + and a -. The Zenit-TTL was available with chrome top (several variants of early KMZ with TTL in Cyrillic and later BeLomo) and completely black [2].

Zenit-TTL (KMZ)

PM4670. Seems to be an earliest so far known version of regular Zenit-TTL camera. Chromed top plate with markings in Cyrillic character. "TTL" markings on the prism. Old type of selftimer lever. Only 3 screws in a lensmount! Streaked shutter speeds and film rewind heads. "MADE IN USSR" markings silksreened on the bottom plate. Appr. 7500 copies released by KMZ in 1976-1977. Many serial numbers are mixed with PM4675. An earliest so far known camera has s/n #76000068 (private coll.).


PM4675. Camera identical to PM4670, but totally black already. A limited quantity of these cameras were released by KMZ in 1977. Investigated camera has s/n #77014251 (K.Gromova coll.).

PM4670 - Zenit-TTL  #77000112.

PM4680. Camera identical to PM4670, but with "TTL" markings on the frontplate already (see picture opposite). All markings in Cyrillic characters. Appr. 7500 copies released by KMZ in 1977. Many numbers are mixed with PM4670. An earliest so far known camera has s/n #77000484 (I.Stolyar coll.).


PM4685. Camera identical to PM4675, but with different body coverings. Investigated camera has s/n #77006840 (DVD Technik).

PM4680 - Zenit-TTL  #77000484.

PM4690. Uncommon early version of the particular camera. Camera identical PM4680, but with "TTL" markings in Roman characters already. Still 3 screws in a lensmount! Different body covering. Even shutter advance disk is streaked now. Some comeras bearing soviet Sign of Quality.  An earliest so far known camera has s/n #77013478 (D.Bessonov coll.).


PM4695. Camera identical to PM4690, but totally black already. Even more uncommon to find nowadays.  An earliest so far known camera has s/n #77003952 (E.Helemae coll.).


PM4697. Camera identical to PM4690, but with with all markings in Roman characters already. An earliest so far known camera has s/n #77025823 (E.Alexandrov coll.).

PM4690 - Zenit-TTL  #77015675.

PM4700. The forerunner of the regular Zenit-TTL cameras. Camera identical to PM4695, but with markings in Roman characters already (see comparison picture below). Comes with streaked heads on the top plate. Old style of selftimer lever. Still 3 screws in a lensmount. An earliest so far known camera has s/n #77021223 (SovietCams).

PM4705. Seems to be one of the latest Zenit-TTL (KMZ) camera with chromed top plate. Markings in Roman characters already. Old type of selftimer lever, but shutter advance, shutter speeds and film rewind heads are new style already. Still 3 screws in a lensmount. PM4710. Camera identical to PM4705, but totally black already. Old type of selftimer lever, but shutter advance, shutter speeds and film rewind heads are new style already. Still 3 screws in a lensmount. Investigated camera has s/n #78017420 (SovietCams). An earliest so far known camera has s/n #78017420 (SovietCams).

PM4705 - Zenit-TTL  #78002122.

PM4715. Special anniversary version, released by KMZ in 1979. Dedicated to upcoming Olympic Games in Moscow (1980). Chromed top plate again with nameplate markings in Cyrillic characters. Olympic logotype on the prism. Old style of shutter advance, shutter speeds and film rewind heads. Old style of selftimer lever. One single copy is known to exist in collections.

PM4715 - Zenit-TTL  #7912164.

PM4725. The most common version of Zenit-TTL camera. The new style of selftimer lever. Shutter advance, shutter speeds and film rewind heads are new style already. 4 screws in a lensmount already. An earliest so far known camera has s/n #78079809 (Molotok 2008). Some cameras have soviet "Sign of Quality" on an accessory shoe. Investigated camera has s/n #80369077 (SovietCams).


PM4730. Camera identical to PM4725, but with official Olympic logotype on the prism. Some cameras have soviet "Sign of Quality" on an accessory shoe. Very common to find nowadays.

PM4730 - Zenit-TTL  #79093985.

PM4755. Less common variant of Zenit-TTL, with Zenit nameplate in Cyrillic characters. The camera has the Sign of Quality on the shutter dial. An earliest so far known camera has s/n #82089789 (OK cameras).

PM4760. Very uncommon "Sniper" version of the particular camera.  Was used on very few "Foto Snaiper-12" sets. Different style of advance, speeds and rewind knobs, another style of selftimer lever. Camera is more similar to Zenit-12S camera indeed (more information on chapter "Zenit Fotosnaipers").

PM4755 - Zenit-TTL  #82159354.

PM4765. Seems to be the latest and very common version of Zenit-TTL, released by KMZ. New design of selftimer lever and shutter release knob, another markings on the top plate (like on Zenit-12C, see picture below).

Zenit-TTL (BeLomo)

PB3705. Seems to be an earliest version of Zenit-TTL camera, released by BeLOMO (Vileika Factory "ZENIT") since 1977. Very rare to find nowadays. Camera identical to PM4670, but with new style of selftimer lever (or replaced after?). Chromed top plate with markings in Cyrillic characters. "TTL" markings on the prism. Only 3 screws in a lensmount! Streaked shutter speeds and film rewind heads.

PB3715. Zenit-TTL camera, released by BeLomo. Totally black body, "ZENIT" nameplate in Cyrillic characters. Very uncommon to find nowadays. Old design of selftimer lever. Fitted with Helios-44-2 2/58 or Helios-44M 2/58 lens. Vileika logotype on the bottom plate (see picture below). An earliest so far known camera has s/n #79006166 (V.Suglob coll.).

PB3720. Camera identical to PB3715, but with new design of selftimer lever already.

PB3715 - Zenit-TTL  #79187804.

PB3725. An extremely common version of BeLomo Zenit-TTL. Camera identical to PB3715, but with chromed top plate already. No otherwise different.



PB3730. Camera identical to PM4725 (KMZ), but released by BeLomo.

PB3725 - Zenit-TTL  #800012477.

PB3750. An ultra rare prototype camera, under name "Zenit TL-E". Very few cameras released by BeLomo in 1981-1982. Identical to regular Zenit-TTL camera, but with LEDs, instead of a meter needle. Never happened to see one alive.

Zenit-15 (BeLOMO)

PB4105. Very uncommon Zenit-TTL camera, released under name ZENIT-15 in Cyrillic characters. According to SSK book, only appr. 4200 units were released by BeLomo in 1984-1985. Different shutter release knobs, different types of markings are know within this version. An earliest so far known camera has s/n #84148425 (V.Suglob coll.).


PB4110. Camera identical to PB4105, but totally black already (even more rare to find). Nameplate in Cyrillic characters.  Investigated camera has s/n #85084032 (private coll.).


PB4115. Camera identical to PB4115, but with export markings already. Different styles of nameplate markings are know to exist. Very rare to find. Investigated camera has s/n #85084620 (V.Suglob) coll.
