This camera adds lens aperture automation to the Zenit-E. There are several other minor cosmetic changes but only this major change. At least 18 versions of Zenit-EM camera existing. The camera can be found marked Cosmorex with a Cosmogon lens and Kalimar also sold a version of this camera marked "Kalimar SR 300". Cambridge Camera also produced one of these with a Cambron plate [2].

An earliest so far known version of particular camera. As you can see from the picture above, representing an earliest camera #72107115 (scanned from original manual guide), both cameras are visually identical. Black body with chromed top plate. "Зенит" markings in Cyrillic characters. Strap lugs on the top plate. The serial number is engraved on the right side (underneath the shutter advance lever), while later cameras have serial number on the left side already.

The particular camera is fitted with authentic early Helios-44M lens #006373. Serial number engraved on the lens frontplate. Camera opposite from Ilya Stolyar (USA) coll.

Very early and uncommon version of Zenit-EM camera under export markings "Revueflex-EM". Strap lugs on the top plate. The serial number is engraved on the left side.

The particular camera is fitted with autentic early Helios-44M lens #041948. Serial number engraved on the lens frontplate.

Very interesting version of Zenit-EM camera was found in United Kingdom market. The particular camera is identical to early type-2 cameras, but under export name "ZENITH-EM" and fitted with Auto Cosmogon lens. At least few samples of this version were found recently, so no doubts about theirs authentity indeed. In fact, it's certain Cosmorex-SE camera (see camera  #75001864), but with new labeling for UK market. Need to mention, what such labelings can be found on few other KMZ cameras from UK markets (see Zenit-3M, under export name "ZENITH-3" or Zenit-B, under export name "ZENITH-B").

Zenit-EM under export name "Cosmorex SE". Comes with Auto Cosmogon 2/58mm lens  #009712. Made especially for USA market and is quite hard to find nowadays in Europe [1].

Zenit-EM under export name "Revueflex-EM". Comes with standard Helios-44M lens. Made especially for Germany market (Foto-Quelle) [1].

 

Under name Revueflex-EM  #75026204.

 

  

Zenit-EM under export name "Kalimar SR300". Comes with Helios-44M 2/58mm lens  #7768358 "Made in USSR". Made especially for USA market and can be found in many markings variations [1].

Less common to find in Europe export version of Zenit-EM camera. Under export name "Diramic R-2". Intended for Canada market. No otherwise different from regular Zenit-EM cameras.

Very uncommon to find in Europe Zenit-EM, under export name "DIRAMIC RF100". Can be found in Canada market. The particular camera comes with Olympic logo and is very close by number to EM #78143965 (see picture above).

Very uncommon to find in Europe Zenit-EM, under export name "Cambron-EM". Can be found in US market. It's very interesting to mention, that particular camera comes with Olympic logo, though US national team have refused to participate in Moscow Olympic games (1980) due to political reasons.
