Yes, it's not the first one I see.
The former had a body which was completely chromed.
I have seen too recently a 2/5cm Sonnar in the same barrel. Not sure the Sonnar was genuine...And a Nikkor 1,4 SC in a Jupiter 8 barrel.
The three-card trick!
Jacques.

Jacques, but it's not an original right? It's a combination of 2 lenses? How does that even work? How can they be optically compatible? I'm just confused about that..
Cheers,
Vlad.

Hi Vlad!
The first Industar 26m were made from the aluminium barrel of the Jupiter 8. On the contrary, it is certainly possible to put a Jup8 lens part into an Industar 61 barrel...
But really, I don't see the benefit. It's much better to put a Nikkor 1,4 SC (from a bayonet mount) into a LTM Jup 8 barrel: you can gain 200 €... But surely it's not so evident...
Amitiés.

I had forgotten: I have a 1939 Sonnar in a Jup 8 of the fifties. It was only necessary to shim it: the mechanisms are perfectly compatible.
It's the same family...

Interesting. I'm not a lens/optics expert, I collect mostly for mechanical aspect of camera bodies themselves, but for some reason I was under the impression that the optical formulas would be incompatible since each lens uses different number of elements etc.. but I guess it's much simpler between these after all.. thank you for clarifying. But an interestin hybrid, just stood out to me as I've never seen such combination before.
Cheers,
Vlad.

Do you think they are home made combinations or original factory lenses?
The JLP notes that the black Jup 8 were made from c.1976, in the anodised version. And yours are from 1968...
It's not the first time I see these curious lenses, but I had not payed attention till now... Thanks!
Jacques.

Is there a reason to make a special batch of these zebra Jup 8?
Jacques.

"Access impossible due to legal restrictions...."
These mentions are more and more numerous on eBay France, even if there is absolutely no problem of "contamination".
I don't understand what happens...
Perhaps black and white is a problem in itself?

5cm F1.5 Contax mt Sonnars in J-3 LTM Mounts;
5cm f2 Contax mt Sonnars in J-8 LTM Mounts.
And- 5-element Schneider Xenar from Karat mount to LTM, used a Canon 50/2.8 LTM focus mount. This lens was loose, found at a camera show for $30. Serial number is from the 40s.

 Hi Brian!
Good to see you back!
Thanks for the details about your work: it explains that we can see hybrids (home or factory made) on eBay.
I hope you are not responsible for all!
Amitiés. Jacques.
