Often on ebay, what they show as sold was not sold, especially the BUY IT NOW items. You need to click the item twice to see the original listing, when it is mentioned there that it was sold then it was sold. If it's not mentioned there then the offer only expired. Also sometimes the seller might place one bid by himself to force collectors to bid otherwise the item might be sold to another collector :) and 2 weeks later the item is offered again. |

"seller refurbished" is the only category ebay offers if an item is as new. there is "new" and then "used", there is no "as new" category. so quite some sellers choose this category to tell the buyer that the item is as new and works perfectly.

Posted - Jun 07 2016 : 12:54:09 PM Juhani, thanks for the explanations. I have never interested in SMENAs before. I used one of them for some time in 80's. The lens was better than I expected (I mean the lens produced quite good image) but lens speed f/4, hmmm it could be more. And range of shutter speed was not sufficient. Nevertheless I have made many interesting photos with SMENA 8M.

Posted - Jun 07 2016 : 01:35:47 AM The AM is a mystery. Yes, there is some clearly "reproduced" ones in ebay, but the AM is not a commonly faked camera-model, like the black 8M is. So why hasn't the AM been discovered as a way to add value to a normal gray-8M, when black 8M is already out of interest? My AM has more correct text than the "8M" fakes, so why would this be better made than the popular black 8M is done? If it a reprinted frontplate, it would more likely have same faults than black 8M has. So I say it may be either real or fake.
2nd ebay-link says "Seller refurbished" so he already says it is not original... 1st one looks very typical way to try and sell an otherwise uninteresting & cheap camera...

On 15th minute: "the developers of the universal measuring microscope UIM-21 have obtained the State Prize".
I have imagined that the German engineers of Otto Eppenstein's Feinmess department obtained this prize in 1946 for the development dated back to 1926.
