Hi All,

Please, I would like to know what lenses are usualy mounted on Kiev No Name in 1963-64??
Is it possible to find sonnar f2 and sonnar f1.5?
And what could be the adequate range for serial number?

Thank's in advance

Hi Fred,

my Kiev 6306313 has lens Sonar 1:1,5 with s/n 712913. I think, you can find such lens on Ebay for acceptable price.

Regards, Alexander

Salut Fred!

For the 1963 bodies, I would say 2/5cm Sonnars. I have seen rare Jena ones, but Optons are much more common, I think.
For 1964, I have seen 1964 Jup 8 only.

I cannot be more precise, sorry: I lost all my datas last year...

Amitiés. Jacques.

Hi Jacques,
My Kiev "No name" n° 64 01055 arrived without lens.
I offered it a Jupiter 8 n°64 06067.
Is it a right present I made it ?? [:)]

Regards.

Hi All

I have 2 Kiev no name
First is 6307326 With Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 2/50 T n°3059424
Second is 6403136 with Jupiter 8M n°6711056. This lens has white face but not sure it was original....
I'll try to post some photos..

I also have 2 Jena Sonnar 2/50 n°2557038 and 1.5/50 n°2268800. regarding the numbers, does it mean these 2 lenses are prewar models?

Hi Fred!

Yes for your question about your Sonnars.
The 2/5cm was delivered in april 1939 and the 1,5/5cm in July 1938, by the listing of Thiele.

All the 1964 "No name" I have seen had a 1964 Jup 8M. Logical, but it's not a proof!

Amitiés. Jacques.

Hi all!

My KIev No Name from 1963 has a Sonnar 1,5/50 with serial 1170766. It's a post war Sonnar from Zeiss in Oberkochem (West-Germany at that time).

As I know the soviets bougth the rest of the production of the standard West Sonnars at that time because Zeiss had left the production of the Contax in 1962.

Quite an interesting topic after reading those two 'no name' wiki entries.

If you like you can put your serials into the wiki, it's already arranged there.

Here's a 1963 Kiev 4A that I bought only because of the s/n plate without 'made in USSR'. This is uncommon. S/n is close to others 'Kiev No Name'.
