Fed Industar-10 question

Hi all,

just got a Fed 1 with a weird (?) lens. The Industar-10 has a scale that I don't understand (from 50 to 95). It is a scale conversion calculator ?

Sorry I just found the meaning of the scale. It's a macro lens.

Yes it is macro lens.
But as I can recognize by vulcanite the FED is post war camera while lens is made before WWII.
I haven't heard macro Industar 10 was produced after war.

The "rigid" macro lenses were made only before WW2. They can be used directly, with a long helicoid (but without coupling, of course).

These collapsible macro lenses were probably made in 1950 only. In fact, they are just normal lenses reengraved with a macro scale. Use with macro rings. For the moment, most of these macro lenses were found on early Fed 1f (s/n 23xxxx/25xxxx), so with an old diaphragm scale. The new one (f 3,5-4-5,6, etc) appeared just after.

Thank you Jacques. I thought collapsible maco lenses were made before WWII. As I can see I was wrong.
In 90's I found 2 or 3 of them mounted to FEDs NKVD. They are not coated and with old scale so I thought they were produced for FED NKVD.
Now I know more than 1 hour ago. [;)]

Camera is damaged, body is deformed. I was planning to take it apart for other repairs projects...

Perhaps it would be interesting to keep the camera and the lens as they are: it is a relatively rare kit. But it is only my opinion.
