Posted - May 09 2016 : 10:26:56 AM Thank you Jacques. This is very interesting what you wrote. And this is big loss the listings not exist any more.

Posted - May 09 2016 : 05:12:59 AM I should have said "I had in my Fed listings...". These listings are lost now, but I had put a great part of them in the wiki.
If I sum up: it seems that the prewar accessories were numbered from the s/n 1 to 16xxx (now), with one exception (certainly misengraving). I insist on the "it seems"! Probably by successive batches. But how many accessories in a batch? Were the batches always made of the same accessory? Were there "blanks" between batches? The macro 3,5/50mm lens was certainly considered as an accessory, by its numbering. Finally, how many lightmeters, 100mm viewfinder, selftimers, angled finder, etc ?
We know too that the extra Fed lenses had a separate numberings (from 20xxx to 46xxx). So, no possible confusion.
It would be interesting to take again that work...

Posted - May 09 2016 : 02:02:34 AM Jacques, what are "Fed listings" ?
|

Posted - May 06 2016 : 2:32:14 PM The "regular" viewers were delivered normally, without s/n, with the 6,3/100mm lens. Those which are numbered are "extra" viewers, counted as accessories in Fed listings, all the accessories being from 1 to 15xxx, as I think. But the real story of Fed accessories must always be established...

Posted - May 06 2016 : 2:09:52 PM Alexander, from what I understand actually most of them don't and those that do are rare.
