Posted - Mar 31 2024 : 10:41:43 PM it is a cylindrical lens using all frame area and compressing horizontal field in order to obtain wide field coverage at horizontal plane and normal wide angle at vertical planes. It is called also "squeezing" or "slimming" lens . The projection through a similar lens recomposes the image as we see it normally. Regards LP

Posted - Mar 31 2024 : 6:31:01 PM So it's a sort of Panorama lens for non-panorama cameras, perhaps by giving a wide-angle view which is chopped off at the top and bottom?
