Posted - Nov 01 2008 : 08:33:57 AM Today I got a parcel (local deal) and inside two Smenas which arose some questions.
The "7" has strap lug places, and Aidas homepage shows only ones without. Serail 205923. No self timer (naturally)
The "6" is finally the LOOMP version, but serial 660508 is quite big for a LOOMP and it has MADE IN USSR text & thin text Cmeha-6.
Please give me your opinion on these.

Posted - Nov 02 2008 : 02:17:35 AM What is most confusing to me is that these cameras are from Finland, and very cheap, so no intended kotlets to get better price. But there does indeed remain the possibility of an early reparation, like in the case of the "50y 7" that we talked about some time ago. But changing the top is easy, changing lenses is not that easy, and the possibility of having two such kotlets in a three camera lot is very very small. So I consider it to be a bit more likely that these are "real" than modified, knowing the terrible amount of found versions so far. But there remains the possibility these are made from several cameras, maybe due to repair.

Posted - Nov 01 2008 : 11:10:47 AM Hi Juhani,
your both cameras looking strange indeed ... Although the regular Smena-7 comes with 1/4" tripod thread usually, your "7" still bearing 3/8" and Smena-6 body. The body of your LOOMP does not correspond Smena-6 LOOMP standards as well ... Possibly the shutter with Loomp lens was taken out from similar Smena-8 Loomp version?
May be the seller have sent you a "sandwich" or "Kotleta" as we call it locally?
Best Regards, Aidas |
