Hello everyone and especially our friends in Russia,
the 2009 is here and the ICANN had finally introduced Cyrillic domain names to the internet. USSRPhoto.com is now also accessible via www.СССРФото.com.
Also on the top of each page of this site now there is a little flag icon, clicking on which will open a separate window with this site translated into Russian via Google. Even though the translation is far from perfect, the overall meaning of text is understandable. USSRPhoto.com at this time stays primarily an English-language resource but we are doing everything possible to make our Russian-speaking friends more comfortable in participating in this project. We will gradually add additional features to the site to help with the translation to and from English.

That is completely true Stephan! This was Bill Parkinson's suggestion actually to do a logo in Russian, and one thing led to another and we decided to internationalize the site . So special thanks to Bill for initiating this process! Timing could not be more perfect since today is the first day to register Cyrillic domain names.

As for me, it was a very bad idea: to developing internationalized domain names (IDN). It is a pity that ICANN stay a politically correct idiots' and grasping persons' assemblage... :(
