A sample of advanced technology.
Calculated and constructed by the Leningrad Institute Tochnoi Mechanik i Optik -One year before the 21mm Biogon seen as the extreme available wide angle up to 1969, 17 years before the lauching of the 15mm Hologon. (of much more difficult production -and no diaphragm) and 45 years before the now commom Heliar 15mm of Japanese construction, Russians built their 14,5mm wide angle for underwater or air use.- an astonishing 120ºpicture taking- in 1953!

Any idea who made the enclosure boxes to use with this lens? Is it also Alexander Massarski (Krab, Akvakon)?

Thanks,

Vlad.

Zoom!

Thanks for that Massarski site!! It's great! Didn't know he had one. No I don't think only Massarski made underwater stuff, but I know he did most of them. :) Would not be surprised if he did do the Gidrorussar enclosure to work with this lens too that why I asked. I know Bill (nightphoto) will also love this link to Massarski site if he does not know about it already, he's a huge fan.

Cheers,
Vlad
