Hello everyone, i already made a topic to ask about a Kiev II, now it's Leningrad time!

I have a Leningrad i love, and in good shape : i can easily take 8 pictures without winding too much, and up to 10 if i wind some more, but i prefer not to put too much pressure on it, and keep it on the 8-7 pictures tension. But i know that sometimes, if it hasn't been used for years, the self timer can be stuck, and on certain camera, a stuck self timer mean a stuck shutter. What do i risk if a try the self timer on this Leningrad? Can it stuck the shutter? This time there is no dedicated button to launch the self timer, so i guess i have to press the shutter in order to use it?

Thank you everyone

Hi

Many things could go wrong for this camera. I bought one last month with a stuck shutter that was caused by a non-working selftimer.A loosen screw caused the selftimer not to fire. I openned the camera and tightened the screw, and then found that the main spring of the camera was broken( a hook at the end was broken and missing), and the first coutain was also missing. IMO, the camera is a piece of art that should not be used, but put on a shelf for looking.:)

Hi
from the translated manual ..
"The self-timer has a preliminary course not less than 10 sec. To activate it, turn the lever by a pointer until it stops, and press the shutter release button. WIND THE SELF-TIMER WITH COCKED SHUTTER ONLY."

If wanted, I can send a PDF version (in english) of the manual.

Personally, I am not game to try the selftimer on mine.
