I am getting closer to my Enigma Kievs .
However I need a Kiev 4 donor for the III chassis / 4 top .
I am considering donating my 1958 with no ridges top plate .
I know it is a rare-ish Kiev 4 , but am looking at two others , one a very dirty 1957.
The reason is that it's pretty rough , the back seems warped , the shutter is gone ,
and the leather is poor .
I would not pay to restore it , and it would not be original anyway .
Another reason is that the controls are good with fine engraving - and
the Contax IIa style meter cover would separate it from the Kommon Herd of Kiev 4s .
