UPP-1 Film developer tank

Few years ago I got developer tank like this.
Having no use for it I put it on eBay.
Imaging my surprise when I staring to receive tons of e-Mails about this tank.
The biggest surprise was on the end of the auction, this tank went for almost $400.
Until this day I do not know what was so special about this tank. Possibly some extra hole on the back or special number Smile.
This was a reason why I bough my.
SmileHard to believe $400 for this, Had one back in the 60,s and used it twice and almost gave it away. Then went to stainless tank and pan which worked much much better. The problem was with the retention of chemical between steps, especially using Ektachrome 16mm . This tank would have worked except for the very long rinses between steps.. Don

These tanks worked perfectly and quckly. There were various in field use around the 1950 years in broadcast television, and in the Jockey Club. They were used with monobath developing and immediatly subsequent washing. Remember these days there were no video tape recording. In Jockey Club those parafernalia were used up to the end of the '70s when hey changed everything.
