Three Exciting Pictures

The first picture is na image of a modified Zenit B receiving na update version of the turret seen at:

the camera has three lenses a Mir 1 37mm na Hйlios 44 58mm and a Jъpiter 11 135mm . all lenses from the firat generation with M39x! thread a handle is installed . this came from a Neva movie cвmera.

The second picture is a FED prototype lens Hйlios 113 in M mount intended for a future camera project similar to the Leica CL that never materialized it makes a pair with the Kalienar 5 100mm.

These two pictures came from old Westlicht auctions.

The third one is an extreme rare artistic reproduction from an engraving in the FAG eveready case. The first one I saw.

hmmmm.....
my opinion ..what mecanism between handle trigger and camera shutter button ?
do not you think this one (mine) is more realist and comfortable ? (in spite of very heavy steel mount :-))

Here is a version I have with only two lenses. My opinion is that all of these "revolver" camera set-ups are very heavy and hard to use (easier to just switch lenses the normal way or, like professionals, use several cameras or a zoom lens).... but very great looking for a collection.

I would think having a triple turret like that is aligned to bottom with top lens sticking out in the air above the camera would make it very uncomfortable since it blocks your second eye's view of the overall scene...

That's true Vlad, and an important thing, but that arrangement also makes it easier to hold the camera, which can be a problem with one like mine. The one in Luiz's photo solves that by the handle from a movie camera!

Yeah ... yours looks like the same as mine as far as the details go. Probably the same maker.

Well the one on Luiz's picture seems like the movie camera handle attached to be held by a right hand, my question is how would you press the shutter release button and hold it at the same time unless the trigger is coupled with the bottom of the camera - but it's a Zenit-B and not an ES so it does not have the bottom access to the shutter release, so it had to be mechanically modified in order to accommodate for that on a B..

Very interesting turret cameras. Remember thar Zenit B is duely modifie including a Praktica rewind crank as it could be seen. No problems in using a Zenit ES bottom with the coupling button to the NEVA trigger.

I do not know why you did'nt tell anithing about the Mmount Helios 113.
nor the ultra rare FAG logo.

Now the companion of the previos lens the FED Kaleinar 5 M mount.

As for the FAG design, I can tell you that I used to have a very rare leather case or FAG Geodesia (but not the camera) and it had the logo that you have shown on the front of it (where the "FED" is on its case). I had bought it on Ebay about 5 years ago. Unfortunately, I did not take photos of it before I gave it to a friend of mine who does have the FAG camera, as a "thank you" gift. I gave it to him because he sent to me a very rare (I would say virtually non-existent) viewfinder for the KIEV SKD Space camera, which I bought from Boris at Arsenal Photo in Germany, but which did not have a viewfinder. Unbelievably, my friend has two KIEV Space cameras and one came with two kinds of viewfinder and so he donated one to me ... a very good friend indeed! (see photo below). Maybe this is the same case you saw?

As for the Helios and Kaleinar with Leica M mounts, I have one of each of them. I also bought them from Boris at Arsenal and there are also photos of them below. The Helios-113 is No. 0000012 and the Kaleinar is No. 9000006. I bought them because it is also thought that they were made to be used on a future version of the FED-6 TTL, and I believe this may have been a plan of FED as I have a photocopy of a letter written by the Director of FED that these two lenses would be available for the FED 6TTL (although he does not specify a type of mount).

In any case, the Kaleinar is fully functional, however, although I have not yet tested it, I have been told that none of the prototype Helios-113 lenses are functional (they only have a back and front element and so will not focus properly. Both of the lenses are exactly like the ones you have pictured! (see photos below).

Vlad : Claire still take a picture of me whith the three lenses camera :
it is a very comfortable device one eye in finder and other on lanscape (like chameleon !!!)
and also my right hand just in place on lense to move focus ring (my left hand cocking shutter and press release button.

(Note this device have an ingenius dust cover on back lenses to prevent dust and finger prints.)

Luiz: thank you for posting this! the Helios-113 I have seen on Yuri's (DVD) site a while back, someone actually emailed me directly about a year ago asking where they could buy that lens for their collection... That Yuri's forum page came up. An interesting logo, first that I see one! Maybe we can add it to wiki catalog.

My best regards So it does let you kind of see around you I guess, very interesting, I thought the opposite with such large rotating plate. For dust cover - what is it? A plate that does not rotate and lenses snap into it? I think it's the same on the dual turret that I have.
