A hybrid Zorki-4K?

Hello everyone,

I managed to catch a few Zorki-4K with engraved speed dials, and just recently I gave them a close look.
One of them has an old speed dial that is found only on some early 1950's Zorki's. The metal ring for setting the flash sychro is not a matching one that is found only on 1970's Zorki, or Zorki-4K's.I have seen 5-6 Zorki-4Ks with engraved speed numbers, and I bought 3 of them. This 4k has an s/n of 74xxxxxx.
Another 1976's Zorki 4K has correct speed numbers of 1,1/2,1/4,1/8....1/30, but the ring for setting sychro only goes to 1/25!

How often do you see such cameras? Could the camera vendor assembled them from parts cameras?

nice Zorki 4Ks :-) For me it looks as if someone has repaired them or - as you have written - they were assembled from parts. Because the modern speeds have one more speed you can not change the speed dial on top only, the speed disk inside must also be changed.

I have seen several Zorki 4K with 1/30 speed and 1/25 synchro dial
I believe they were factory made from remaining parts.
But a curious thing happened last week when a neighbour brought an almost pristine Zorki 4K left by a father of someone to his son.
The camera seemed never been used and its case was virtually unused.
The first curious thing was the fact it was fitted with the wrong lens - an old Jupiter 8 but the speed dial and counter was like anodized aluminium with numbers in white and yellow. the counter follows the same. Similarities exist with the Zenit TTl and much more with Exakta RTL 1000.
I remembered immediatly the Zorki 35 prototype.

Thanks Ulrich for your kind reply. Yes, it needs a whole set of parts from an earlier Zorki-4 camera. I think that only 1956-1960's Zorki-4s has such speed dials.It might have left the factory this way.

Hi LP,

That is a very unusual Zorki-4K. Did you take a picture of the camera?
I have a very unusual red logo Moscow-5 that has an early Moscow-2,s body support, and an Industar-23 1:4.5 F=11cm lens with a s/n 54xxxx, but the camera has a s/n 59xxxxx. I believe that the camera left the factory that way, and that is why it has a red logo.
