Dear Niko
I was extensively using and studying the Soviet Mak lenses as excelent astronomical pieces. They occured in three generations. The first one was the MTOM with a heavy wooden case and three filters. This was renamed MTO-100 and had slight mechanical changes, All those lenses were only made in M39 mount. The second generation was represented by the MC MTO-11CA Has the same optical basis but has some slight diferences. 1 -Multicouated 2- front achromat meniscos 3-A mount enabling use M39, M42, K, Kiev 10 and N mounts thtrough removable rears, and na authentic leather case.
Rubinar series are different lenses 1 -Acromat front divergent meniscus with removable divergent mirror centered. this obliges a hole in the middle of the two front lenses. 2-Four elements rear Barlow lens block giving near 1.2x enlarging
Although the difficulties in building the new lwns this one was cheaper than previous types.
By this reason, quality control was poorer, accepting refused units with small chips. also the mechanical construction was poorer and sloppy
I developed a new and completely diferent objective basedon Rubinar series with na all new mechanical basis.
that I will show to you the next days.
