Engraving in shutter

8 posts in this thread
Hello,

while disassembling an early FED 1 (serial number 9xxx) I found this engraving on the bottom of the shutter housing. Can anybody translate this to me? Does it make sense or is it just a senseless scratching :-)

Hello Ulrich,
it seems to be the name of the owner.

Regards, Alexander
Hello!
I think that this is the signature of the owner.
Hello Ulrich,

looks like initials and name "I. S. Zavizion" The last letter is written in Latin style (N) and not in Cyrillic one (H). As for me this name is very untypical.

regards, altix
Thanks for your explanations. So it seems to be a name. Very strange place for engraving the name :-)

Not really strange, but very practical. You don't spoil the look of the camera, but if you loose it you can find it any time again. Smile

Alexander,

ok, but you have to disassemble it to engrave the name there :-)
