Hello,

Here are my two Triotars:

http://www.ussrphoto.com/UserContent/2122015_DSCF1794.JPG

The biggest one is a LTM. Not very common: these Triotars were first made for Exakta cameras, then for M42 ones. And some were specially made in LTM, by "extension" of the body.

The shorter is a M39. But I wonder to which camera it can fit. It is much shorter than the other: c. 33mm! So, certainly, it could not fit SLR cameras like Zenit. (Registers: 28,8mm for LTM, 45,46mm for SLR M39 and M42). A Visoflex system?

A word more: the formula dates of 1939 and was calculated originally for Exaktas. No change of formula afterwards, after the Thiele. So, the lens block, inside, should be the same, I think. My two lenses are of 1945 (the shorter) and 1948.

Thanks for your comments!
Jacques.

Hello Jaques

the mistery Triotar is made to the Neucaflex I had shown in another thread.
This is an even rare lens for this extremely rare câmera.

I especulate that Mr. Neubert was one of the team who worked in Russia in the immediate post war days.

The link is certainly tied to the the similarities between Zorkis and Neucas as well as Neucaflex second series and further Ucaflex first series that at he same time shared together Zenits M39 x 45.2 flange, mount, not forgotting the TSVVS

A fact to be observed.
Regards.

Thanks...Blush

No merit: I am fond of these cameras and lenses which are not exactly what they appear... A Leica which looks like a Fed, screws not at the right place, a lens too short...

So, this lens would perhaps fit a Neucaflex. I will send it to a friend who could determine the register of the right camera.

Merci! Jacques.

Well, my repairman worked on the "short" Triotar.
He found that there must be a ~34mm ring to have an image on his Leica M9.

It corresponds more or less to the difference of length with the "long" LTM Triotar. So, the two ones share the same lens formula, as I thought.

He thinks of a possible use on a LTM camera with a Visoflex system or on a M39 reflex.

This lens seems prone to flare, as he told me (it is non coated, contrarily to the "long" LTM one).

Amitiés. Jacques.
