Hi Fred!

Yes, I fear that Alfa is right.
Vulcanite from 1b/early 1c, three screws under the rewind button, center screw half hidden under lensplate... The body looks like a 50000/60000 Fed 1b or 1c.

The lens is far more difficult to fake: collapsible 2/5cm were made by Zeiss only.

Amitiés. Jacques.

The question is if the Zorki top plate is a fake.
To be sure if the rest is a Fed a photo without bottom plate would let us know. It could still be only a Fed vulcanite housing.

Thanks Fred,

sad you got cheated. The top plate is a Zorki-1de with a stamped logo. How well it was re-engraved.
Always need to see pictures without bottom plate, but sometimes there is no time, you need to be quick, otherwise someone else will buy it.
In this case another hint would have been the speed. Normally with early serials like #2796 there should always be 1/1000 speed. All others with only 1/500 should set you in alarm.

Was it known seller?

I bought it in an auction sale
price was not so high as it comes with another camera: A Fed 2 pre-series..
So it is not a problem
each time I buy a Fed/Zorki, I know it could be a fake.....
CoolCoolCool
