Jupiter 11 '11.5cm' lens

7 posts in this thread
Here's a bit of an odd one for any Jupiter specialists on the forum.

A new member of another forum has got a Jupiter 11 lens marked 'F + 11,5 cm' and its serial number looks like it's: 6022150.

Here's the photo:

I've lightened it and enlarged ity slightly to try and make it easier to see the serial number and the '11,5 cm'.

Could this be real? Could this be a mistake when engraving the the numbers?

The member says there's no possibility of the lock-ring/name ring having been 'doctored' to 11.5 from 13.5.

I did mention this forum in my first reply, and that I could ask here about it.

Any help would be much appreciated.
I think it is mistake when engraving the number.
I have Jupier 9 for FED/Zorki with a mistake. The lens is regular J9 but there is a mistake.

No doubt there is an error of engraving.
As far as I know, there is no 11,5cm Jupiter lens. And all the Jupiter 11 are 13,5cm lenses...Clown

Jacques.
Thanks for the replies and the info.

On the one hand, it's a shame as it would have been a rare lens.

On the other hand, it's still a rare lens, but for a different reason.
Maybe it is not rare lens because construction is very popular.
I'd rather say it is interesting item.
@Alfa2, by 'rare', I meant that the incorrect engraving makes the lens rare, There can't be many of them at all.
In this meaning - yes you're right, Sean.
