Thanks, Luiz.
These "Sonnars" are interesting. Probably glasses made by Zeiss for some reason before or during WW2, and mounted somewhere after. Not officially, of course. Around 500 of them can have been made, by the serial numbers.
I own four of them, all different, which shows it is not an official production. One is coated. They deliver beautiful images.

This particular lens is a bit expensive...

Amitiés. Jacques.

Hello
I have a 1955 jupiter 8. Is there anyway to know if it's made of the german glass taken from zeiss factory? not that it's really important because it looks sparkling. just curiosity

1955 is certainly too late, especially for Sonnar 2/5cm-Jup 8. But there are some 1,5/5cm Sonnar glasses which were remounted in Jup 3 bodies after, probably refound in KMZ boards...
The Zeiss number, at the back of the barrel, must be checked first. And then some details of the body : "open" 4 or not, "ears" or not, etc, depending on the year of the lens.
But frankly, there is little chance in 1955. And some photos are needed...

I have a dozen of 1,5/6cm in my listings, with two or three which were officially made by Zeiss.
But nothing concerning this special lens (and camera). Can you read the s/n, Luiz?

Amitiés. Jacques.
