After my first tests of the Russar on A7, I decided to give it an opportunity to shine.
This lens, like many RF wide angle, performs quite bad on modern sensor (actualy the only FF camera that can use the Russar is the A7... oh and Leica), because light rays arrive with a too hard angle on the border of the sensor (basicaly said).
So, I expected better results on border (less vignetting) on film.
Well, it was way better than what I expected! It's really another lens on film! After seeing film, we understand better that this design was especialy made to avoid the problem of darker corners on the edges (vigneting).
My scanner was quite dirty, and it's not top-end scanner, so sharpness can't be really judged here (but sharpness is good on A7!)
