FED 4

Hello all, I am new here and new to the Soviet type cameras. Just bought this one. It is in very good condition. I had to adjust the vertical aspect of the range finder though. I am running my first test roll through the camera now. I took 5 exposures prior to correcting the range finder. I'l take 10 more using the cameras light metre and then 15 more using my light metre camera app.

I'm posting photos of the camera and asking anyone what year the camera was made. I have been told anything from the 60s, 70s and the 80s.

I think its 1964 or 1965, it looks like a type 2 body with the strap lugs fitted, if you look at https://www.mikeeckman.com/sovietcams/indexf37d.html?tmpl_into=middle&tmpl_id=217&_m_e_id=16&_menu_i_id=94 you will see one of these with a serial number quite close to yours. It seems from about 1965 FED started prefixing the year onto the serial numbers.

Thanks very much Steve. When I purchased the camera it was advertised as an 1980 model. I was pretty sure that was incorrect but this is my first USSR camera and wanted to be more sure of its date.
