AKD-55 Slide Duplicator

The AKD-55 is a slide duplicator manufactured by KOMZ in the 1960s. The slide or negative to be copied is placed over the opal screen and the film magazine is then slid forward over it. The illumination is provided by low voltage lamps, the intensity of which can be controlled by a rheostat. The slide or negative is pressed into contact with the film in the magazine by means of the lever on the front of the unit. The exposure is made by pressing the button below this lever. There is no provision for control of colour by means of filters, so I assume that the unit was used only for black & white. The fourth photo shows the inside of the film magazine, which incidentally has no frame counter. The whole unit is packed in a wooden box.
