The L-5 Lupe was made by the KOMZ factory in Kazan. It is designed for 35 mm film, which is fed through the slots at the bottom. It has a magnification of 5x. The eyepiece can be raised and lowered to adjust the focus. The lever on the side of the unit, notches the film.
