Zorki 2C ... from the KGB in Moldavia
1959
This Zorki 2C camera from 1959 is remarkable in two things at once.
The top plate has a gift inscription engraved on the back side:
"To comrade Pasenko D. Z. - from KGB at SM MSSR 9.5.1960" ('SM MSSR' is the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic) .
And also, the top place has a corrected mistake in the inscription. It looks like at first the plate was planned to be put on Zorki C camera, and then the inscription was corrected to "2C". The camera is a Zorki-2C since it has a 1/30 synch speed.
So maybe the KGB in Moldavia was given this camera because it could not be sold to the public due to the mistaken logo, but it was good enough still to give to someone.
