I've recently purchased this book "Camera: A History of Photography from Daguerreotype to Digital" by Todd Gustavson published by George Eastman House on recommendation of a few local camera collectors here and was pleasantly surprised finding a few mentions of Soviet cameras with photographs like Sport, FT-2, F-21, Komsomolets, FED and maybe one or two others.
Unfortunately there are a few small inaccuracies in the descriptions, like for FT-2 it says it's made for artillery photography which was disputed here earlier and the city name of Berdsk is written as "Bersk" for FED and it is "blatant"
Aside from all this - this is a very beautiful and heavy book, lots of color high quality images, great thick paper stock, I think a must for all camera collectors. It of course does not cover everything which is impossible but touches on essentials. Obviously it gets somewhat heavy on some Kodak stuff, but plenty of Daguerreotype cameras.
Here's a link to it on Amazon - it seems to be on special sale as well.
