Having noted that prices go up when a camera is desirable - I would like to say to all sellers that Kiev IIs / IIIs etc are unreliable , poorly made and too complex .
Please take note and sell them cheaply immediately , especially a 1949 model as that is too old to be of use .LOL

If only !
They seem to be rising rapidly in price - luckily I have my four Kompanions safely gathered in - with two KII and one K IIa ' spares ' - non CLA - for the future .
I tended to look for ebay cameras incorrectly advertised - Kiev 4a - or just sold cheaply within a lot of K 4 / 4a , so collected some OK cameras - broken self timer / leaks etc , maybe as donors for specials .
Then I bought a CLA 1951 KNeB II and the near mint 1952 .... and they tended to fade into the back ground !
I wonder if , eventually , there will be fewer and fewer people interested in these cameras , as digital takes a stranglehold and we age , or will they have a renaissance as true classic gems from a forgotten age and idealogy ? Will good ex-USSR cameras become scarce as collectors indulge - there must be a finite number of working cameras out there .

Just like wallstreet, eh I will buy those unreliable Kiev IIs etc for $1. I was going to sell some of my cameras but now thinking it over they are too much fun to use. I have a digital to use for general shots but will save my Russian cameras for serious work out in the woods where the wild flowers compete with the city polution for dominance of the breezes. h e he he
