History question: LOOMP

4 posts in this thread
Here is the excerpt from Princelle book: " In 1962, GOMZ become LOOMP (Union of Optico-Mechanical Enterprises of Leningrad). The LOOMP logo appears briefly on a few SMENA-8 cameras as well as on a version of the amateur cine camera, the Sport-2. On January 1st, this industrial complex become LOMO ...." (Princelle 2nd edition, p.49)

Although Princelle talks about Smena-8 Loomp only, we all know about the existance of Smena-6 Loomp version for sure. Listing my records I have found that even early version of Voskchod camera had such markings, and the Lubitel-2 ... Following the logic, it's possible even to find Leningrad, Smena-5, Sputnik or maybe another same period cameras with Loomp markings...

I'd like you to share your experience in finding these cute LOOMP cameras ...

Regards,
Aidas
I have an interesting Lada movie camera of Yellow paint series with LOOMP around the lens and Lomo ensignia (triangle and lens) in the original lens cap. It dates from 1965.
Luiz,
Good find indeed - I have never heard about Lada Loomp camera! Thanks!
