Zenit E shutter Curtains

5 posts in this thread
Hello everyone,

I really need help with this one! I´ve just received a Zenit E from 1974, apparently in good order. Unfortunately the shutter curtains are sticky and one of them is getting apart from the other. Is there something to do? I´m willing to disassemble the beast but i need some guidance. Please view the photo!

Thanks

Fernando

Dear Fernando,

Looks like the one of the shutter ribbons is broken. They can be replaced. But you have to completely dis assemble and re- assemble the camera. Make sure you have the right equipment.
If this is your first repair of service, it will quite be a challenge. I can post some pictures of the process if you request so.

With kind regards,
