How to read Kiev 15 light meter?

3 posts in this thread
Hello to all,

My name is George from France. I just bought a Kiev 15, which still seems in good shape and look pretty strong build. I haven't got the owner manual (I know it's in russian...).

So far, I found out the usefulness of all the dial. Thus, I am still wondering what the small and big yellow dots are (with the liftable center knob)?

The only problem I really have is that I don't know if I am reading the light meter right... I don't understand what the two red tabs in the viewfinder are and I don't know how to move them.

Thanks,

George
Hello Pepito

go to http://www.sovietcamera.su/src/Kiev15_man.pdf
page 23.

!- indicator of low light
2- galvanometer arrow
3- indicator of excessive light

Once you set film speed and shutter speed, the diaphragm position in "A", the arrow moves freely according to light. The 1 and 3 limits also moves according to the speed pair previous set. Once the arrow goes down the red banners 1&3 the firing button locks in the low light (1) and indicates you must use a higher shutter speed when it reaches (3).
Go ahead!

LP

It's time for the test roll now.
