I have not been doing much with my Kievs etc, but they continue to keep me grounded through the Autistic Glitch . I would not be without them , but my Kiev mounted Leica M8 / Helios and a pair of Sony A290/A390 which are the most basic DSLRs you could find , with old Minolta lenses shut me very well .
However it is time , at almost 70 years for my last car .
You would imagine something sensible and tall with 5 doors maybe .
Well , we decided to order a new VW Beetle only to find that no further orders can be made after 3 May !! More encouraging is that VW offer a £3000 contribution to clear UK stocks . This is more useful to me than a different specification !
After much searching , we found a new Beetle in Platinum Grey which is on the way from Mexico , which should drive next week .
The Beetle , for me , is perfect because my mind is stuck in the 50s and the Beetle reminds me of `coupe cars from the 50s and 60s - it has almost a 1930s Art Deco / minimalist style . My car is an escape from the confusing world for me .
