Digital back is interesting thing but Kiev 88 is difficult to operate camera.
Sbd told: You don't take photos with Kiev 88, you fight with the camera to take photos.

I agree with Alfa2 - the lens resolution and general engineering is just not there. Looking at the sensor, it is small - maybe 35mm size?
Still I really like the look of my Zenith 80 and have had great enjoyment from getting it working correctly!

the phase one backs were developed for 4.5x6 cameras, so the sensors are mainly 40x53mm. the kiev 88 cameras were also sold in a "hartblei" variant, a company, based in kiev, which re-engineered the original kiev 88 and its lenses. they were still cheap, but reliable. I had them years ago. no problem with them.

Interesting. Can you still use the camera's normal controls? How much are they? I did look into digital backs when I had a Bronica ETRSi (apologies for swearing, lol), but at the time what I could find out showed that the backs were £10,000 or more and some of them had to linked to a laptop, at least as far as I understood it.
