Kadr camera

Here's an interesting piece from "Russians on the March" in PhotoGuide Magazine (Focal Press), October 1958. It describes several well-known contemporary Soviet cameras, along with the Kometa, and this, the "Kadr". I've never seen reference to this anywhere else, even as a prototype. Anyone heard of it or was it pure invention?

thanks for posting this, quite interesting! I've never heard of it before, but dug through KMZ archive site and found it! This seems to be just a project for a camera that was never released as far as even KMZ writes.. but who knows weirder prototypes had surfaced.

Most of all thanks for pointing me to the KMZ archive site. I hadn't come across that before and there's lots of information, and google translates it very well for those of us whose Russian isn't up to the job!

THE SHUTTER IS A REMADE PROTOTYPE FROM KODAK CHEVRON CAMERA WITH ITS RECIPROCATING LEAF SHUTTER DESIGN. INTERNAL UNAVOIDED GEAR GAPS ARE "FILLED" WITH MAGNECTIC FORCE BUILT IN TO PARTS.
