Mimosa I

I love small cameras, and if they also have riddles.... I got my hands on a rare Mimosa I camera, judging by the serial number of 1948. I think that this camera is undeservedly neglected. The history is really interesting...

I got the camera in a rather poor condition. The shutter was jammed, the front lens unit was missing. The back cover latch was broken.



The hardest part of the restoration process was finding the front lensblock. But I solved this problem as well. Now the device is fully restored and pleases visitors to my office.

Linked only by the fact that production was in the DDR, then under the control of the USSR. It is believed that the USSR wanted to obtain documentation on the production of these cameras. Therefore, the production was transferred to Zeiss and all documentation was destroyed.
