Zenit Surpiz MT-1 with extended shutter

8 posts in this thread
I just received this camera with a 1/1000s speed... my question is, how rare is it? Princelle ONLY lists the 1/1000s version in his book, but I have been running into ones mostly that are 1/500 on the high end.... any more information known about these cameras?

Thanks,
Vlad.
Sorry everyone I think I accidentally locked this topic. OOPS! Blush

If you have an MT-1 could you please post your serial # and whether it has a 1/1000 speed or not... I want to see whether there is a pattern, like later version only came with 1/1000 and so on...

Thanks!
Vlad.
Vlad,

You shot a few pictures of my camera. It's the same model.

Steve
I have such camera with 1/1000 speed, but I was thinking all of them have this speeds, because MT-1 is modernised Zenit 19.
My camera has special mount for microscope attachement(?) so I can not put normal lens on it, like you did. Oh well I think I'll survive Smile
This is actually Steve's camera pictured in the catalog, mine is the same as yours Okynek, it has the bayonet and 2 endoscope lenses and bunch of filters in the kit... I saw quite a few with 1/500.. that's why I"m trying to understand whether it's completely different model or same model just a later one...

Vlad.
And the presence of thread mount or bayonet breech mount does not really affect the presence of 1/1000 speed, I've seen both combinations..

Vlad
Really interesting !
Then logically should exist Zenit 19 with only 1/500 speed.
Or can MT-1 with 1/500 speed derive from, perhaps, Zenit 18?
My Zenit MT-1 #901546 really goes with 1/500s ...

Aidas
