No I kept the rangefinder and housing for spare parts, baffled off the holes and filled then mounted accessory shoes. The shroud for the shutter pin-hole timer I made from a housing for an automotive flasher module. I then remounted the spring from the shutter arm. It was attached to the base for the original cover and accessory shoe screws. I allowed room to access shutter pivots on the top for lubing. I always thought the Leica 1A was sharp so now I almost have one. Just Zorki Chrome will stay for now...The camera is pretty easy to work on except for doing a shutter re-do, then I will send it to Yuri I don't have that much confidence in doing re gluing them . These cameras are such a bargain, I am going to purchase another for back-up. Don
