Zenitar 135mm

5 posts in this thread
A fellow forum member from MFlenses posted this - can any body help- its a 3.5/135mm 'Zenitar' but apparently made in Japan

Any help appreciated; I wonder if its something similar to the TOE Helios lenses? ie outsourced by an importer to make up for a shortfall in Russian imports? Or somebody trying to jump on the Zenit name? The only comment so far is that it looks very like an early Tokina lens but without the t-mount. ThanksSmile

Samsung GX-10,too many Russian Lenses, A lot of Zenits, an Almaz 103 a few Yashica, and finally a Minox35GT
It isn't same as TOE Helios 135mm, that has auto-diaphgram etc.

Best regards,
Juhani

This one.
Thanks for the information so far. I am the 'fellow forum member' from MFlenses. I've taken a look at a translated copy of the URL included above.

What I think I know so far:

Zenitar didn't make a 135mm/3.5.
My lens was manufactured by Tokina.
My lens was branded 'Zenitar' but not sold by 'Zenitar'.

What a tangled web...

Dwaine,

just a small correction regarding Russian Zenitars - Zenitar is a product line and the manufacturer is KMZ (Krasnogorskiy Mechanicheskiy Zavod).

Glad you found your answers.

Cheers,
Vlad
